India my country...

Analysts predict that Indian economy will overtake US by 2050. Debates are on, with lot of pessimism and optimism in the air. It is definitely a good news that Indian economy is doing so well. But i wonder how much are we ready to take this daunting challenge.

Indian population is one sixth of the world's population. Close to 30% of the population is living below the poverty line. Thats more than 300 million people, almost the population of US.

The benefits of these economic rise is reaching only the few urban areas. Whereas the majority of the Indian population is in the villages. There are villages, where even the basic necessities like drinking water, electricity is not there. People walk 10-20 km and fetch water for their daily use.

There have been incidences when people out of sheer necessity come out of these villages for some livelihood. And some coldblooded people suck their blood out by paying them peanuts. There have been incidences when these labours are tied and kept in captivity.

We are currently concentrating only on one side of the coin, thats glorious future which the industrialists and politicians are showing. If we really want India to be a developed country and one of the super powers, I guess we need to do more than just geting more FDIs....

Where art thou!!!!!

Falling in love is the easiest thing to do… You look into someone’s eyes and you feel some kind feeling rushing through you and you know you are in love…

But hey wait a second…. We are in the 21st century.. Who has time to look into someone’s eyes and all…

Here most of us don’t even get time to look at the mirror in the morning to dress up properly… Here we are in 21st century running around faster than a metro rail… Who has time for all these real world activities..

So our great innovators and creative people came up with weirdest of ideas and made an impossible come true… They create a virtual world of net… Where distance.. time.. place.. nothing can stop you from meeting anyone… You can meet anyone from any part of the world..

What can make life more simpler now than internet.. People even fall love via chatting and mailing.. Distant relationships are now the “In” thing…

But come to think of it is that real love? Or is it just a fantasy?

I don’t know. Am not an expert but somehow the warmth of a relationship like this should be experienced by being together. Yes you can definitely describe how beautiful the weather outside is to your loved one in a poetic way with most colourful words. But can that replace the warmth of his hand in yours and taking a walk in that beautiful weather.

No words can describe the emotions that pass through your loved ones face when you tell them about your greatest achievement of the day.

How can he describe the six that he hit or the catch that he missed while playing…. How to explain the experimental dish that she made.. The aroma of it or may be the burnt smell of it..

These might sound the silliest of things but these small and insignificant moments are what makes life worth living....And its these silly and funny moments that are the salt of the relationship.. though added just a little but without it, its absolutely tasteless........

Life faster than a Metro

Life is moving so fast now a days that its very difficult to even remember what date or day is today(Day's are quite simple to remember as we start our count down from Monday morning, hard to forget you see). There was a time when twenty fours of a days were too long for us. Coming back from school we had enough time to have our lunch at home... See some stupid serial called "Swabhimaan" and catch an hour's sleep. get up and quickly finish home work so that we can run out and play some sports or may be just do chit chat with friends. Had enough time even after all that play to come fight with your sibling when your father was watching news on the TV. Have peaceful dinner and watch some TV. Still enough time to check the time table and keep your books in bag accordingly. Polish your shoes (rarely done).

And here we are today running around saying 24hrs a day is just not enough. Our running starts right in the morning to cook food or boil milk or even to take bath and then get ready while running around the house searching this and that to be picked up before you set out for office.
Dont even get time to tie the watch peacefully ( I do that in the lift).

Where are we running to... Whats so much hurrying all about... God knows b'coz at the end of the day I dont feel I achieved anything great in the whole day. It was just another day doing the same old work. And does that work make a better person or the world a better place to live in... Well good question but better left unanswered...

Is this what i dreamt of doing when i was growing up? No definitely not. Well my dream profession used to change in every summer holidays (coz thats the time when we would be coming up with all there bizzare ideas of what to do).

Guess too melodramatic a thought to be written more... I better stop now....

Beginner...

Finally I enter the world of blogging... I used to wonder how people could write so much on any given topic under the sky. I find it a huge task to even give words to my thoughts properly. I always run short of words. But here I am registering myself to one of the most happening virtual places of the world.

Now a days its not only the physical world that can be happening and hep. Even the virtual world of web has its own distinct place in our lives. My friends have their own proper blogs and their pages and here I was wondering what the heck do they have to write so much about.....

I thought, let me also give a try. So here I am writing my first blog on absolutely nothing... :) Hey this one was quite easy.... hmmm I think I can attempt one more. Lets see............
